What is not commonly known is that these are all hypotheses to try and understand the general direction of the environment that no one currently has a grasp of. It is a fact that Antarctica melts in areas and at different times. Since we have begun keeping records of these events, there is evidence that the land mass is shrinking, but this is very erroneous thinking.
You see we have only been able to make specialized measurements like this for several decades which may seem like a long enough time to make good guesses about the earth which is thousands of years old (some even say billions). It’s not possible to make an conclusive declaration about patterns that might just be natural cycles that are 500 years long. Even 100 year or 50 year cycles would not have been fully measured yet.
