First off we have to define what a mobile billboard is.I am pretty certain that you are aware of what traditional billboards are.Well mobile billboards are the same thing except on wheels.But the main point of difference are the many advantages it has over the traditional billboards.  I know this first hand from my experience running my own mobile Billboards San Diego company.

Mobile billboards are advertisements placed on either a trailer or it can be seen like what our company uses with truck advertising San Diego.  That is ads on sides of commercial trucks.

As mentioned before, it has a lot of advantages compared to traditional billboards.  Those advantages are the very fact that it is mobile.With the typical billboard, the consumer usually drives right by the sign and not even take notice.  While a mobile billboard is right there in traffic with the consumer. 

So instead of driving right past it, the mobile billboard is able to drive past the consumer.  This ad is boldly displayed right at eye level.This guarantees that the attention of the consumer will be caught and they will be forced to read the ad.

With a lot of the traditional ways of advertising becoming ineffective, this advertising medium can be of great benefit.It gives your ad a very high exposure to all possible consumers.  Your ad is more likely to get read because if a consumer is in traffic, a bold catchy ad will guarantee to catch their a attention.

This helps your business a lot.If you objective is to brand your company and get more sales, this can do the job.  Contrast that with advertising mediums such as TV or radio and you get more bang for your buck.It is a form of advertising that can’t be turned off and tuned out like TV or radio.  So your advertising dollar goes a long way especially with good mobile billboards rates.

Pregnancy, what a wonderful time for a woman.  Well, I guess aside from the sickness.  But beyond that, the expectation of a new baby coming is exciting.

Usually, for a lot of women, how they are going to deliver the baby isn’t the big question.  Because most women will go the standard route of a medical procedure involving hospitals, drugs, and doctors.

But for some women, an alternative is available.  That alternative is hiring a midwife and doing it the natural way.  And it is that alternative I am going to share from my experience as a San Diego midwife.

For those that don’t know, midwives are women who perform natural, no drugs, deliveries.This usually means no doctors.

Often times midwives in San Diego perform these services at homes.Although, not known by most people, this way to deliver a baby is a safe and regulated alternative.

The midwives in this service industry are fully regulated.  They can come in the form of a licensed midwife or a certified midwife with a regulatory board overseeing them. 

Sometimes they can be nurse midwives, but that is not a requirement. 

This form of delivery is an option a lot of women choose and includes waterbirth in San Diego. With that simple step, you are able to determine if this is a quality midwife you can trust.It is still obvious that even though there are no complaints or reports about your midwife, you still want to verify some references. 

You are going to want to find a midwife whose clients speak highly of them.With something as private and personal as a delivery, going through these steps will help you pick the right midwife for your delivery.

Why Private Schools Are Struggling

The recession has not only taken its toll on businesses this past year. Education has also been effected but mainly in the private sector. Whilst more students are actually staying on in higher education at the moment, a great deal more are choosing to do so in the state school system. This, coupled with a number of other factors has led to the closure of a private schools all over the country and the struggling of many other schools. Below we take a look at a number of contributing factors to private schools suffering.

Lower pupil numbers. No school can survive without its students. The vast proportion of the money that a school has to spend on teaching, equipment and research all comes from student fees. Due to parents increasingly choosing the state system for their children’s education in order to reduce their costs, there has been a dramatic drop in the number of pupils attending private school and less money coming in

Laying off staff. With the reduction of money going into private schools, most are having to lay off staff in order to stay afloat. Many schools have had to cut their number of teaching jobs in half and this will inevitably lead to a drop in the standard of teaching quality across the board. This then causes parents to consider just how much better a private education really is at the moment and means more are switching to state eduction. This is something that seems to have affected independent senior schools more than others.

Competitive market. When markets were growing and everyone was doing pretty well 5 years ago, many weaker private schools and boarding schools could survive simply because there was the supply of students to sustain them. Now though, as schools are struggling, the weaker ones are losing out to the stronger more established institutions

Don’t pay the full Airfare price!

Finding airfare discounts is something any traveler would do. If you travel as a big group or as a family, receiving airfare discounts will be the best thing that can ever happen to you on the trip. How possible is it, that you will receive such discounts?

In most cases, airlines offer discounts during times where they lose businesses. That is why you find airlines offering airfare discounts during non-tourist seasons in certain countries. In other rare occasions, airlines announce special discounts during company celebrations. For e.g. The XYZ airline may offer discounts to celebrate their 25th anniversary in business

However, chance is not the only component that makes you entitled for airfare discounts. Certain credit card offers too, make you suitable for airfare discounts under sealed conditions. The bottom line is very clear when it comes to receiving airfare discounts. It may be easier for traveling agents to promise you the sun and the moon but at the end of the day, they are not the ones that are making decisions about airfare discounts. If at all, when travel agents are given the chance to make decisions on airfare discounts is when they have a special understanding with the airline. The percentage of airfare discounts will certainly depend on the agreement they have with one another. So in such case, travel agents will have more say over determining the rates they offer travelers. This is why you see minor differences in the rates offered by different travel agents.

So when you settle down for airfare discounts, you need not only worry only about the figures. You must also look in to who is providing the service; i.e. whether you are receiving the discount from the agent or straight from the airline. You should also check whether your online payment goes through a secure gateway to ensure you are entrusting your credit card details with trusted sources. And lastly but not in the very least, you should pay extra attention on nitty gritty details to avoid last minute disappointments!

CraigsList, Nigeria and Real Estate Scams: Keep Your Eyes Open!

It’s no surprise that the terms “scam”, “Nigeria” and “CraigsList” are associated together - but what’s the real estate connection?  Read on… this is very disturbing:

It is a fact of the Internet age.  When the word “Nigeria” comes up in any proposition involving money, hit “delete” and run screaming from your computer.  An item from WJAR-TV in Providence, RI, provides yet another cautionary tale, this one involving Craigslist, the popular classified ad site that has been taking a beating for being the hangout of the homicidal and merely disreputable.  (”Need a hitman?” “Need a ‘massage’?” “Need both?”)

Adding to Craigslist’s PR woes is a scam artist who hijacked a legitimate listing for a rental house in Portsmouth. “Charles Burger” reposted the property ad’s information under his alias at a rock-bottom rent. He instructed interested parties to wire first month and security deposit to Lagos, Nigeria.

Sue Johnson and her husband, the real property owners, were surprised to see “tenants” walk up to the front door lugging boxes, ready to move in. No doubt these people indignantly told the Johnsons, “Don’t look surprised. We sent our money to Nigeria!”

This is crazy and disturbing on many levels.  But here are a few tips that come to mind for those of you who may be looking to rent property for your own use:

* Never rent property sight unseen.  The scam artist undoubtedly told ad respondents, “OK, you can drive by the house, but don’t bother the tenants.” Real smooth.
* Always conduct a thorough walkthrough of a rental property. Make a list of any damage or defects. This protects the tenant and the landlord and gets the relationship off to a good start. Not stepping inside a property prevents this important inspection (see above.)
* Always use a well-drafted rental agreement. If you’re not working with a real estate agent, boilerplate forms are available from a number of sources. Tenant and landlord expectations need to be set upfront, especially on important issues such as who pays for appliance repairs, utilities, and upkeep like gardeners. Some of these costs may be split. Everything should be negotiated, understood and agreed upon before signing.
* Don’t think the drop in home prices has created too-good-to-be-true rents. In many markets where sales are slumping, rentals are going strong due to people needing a place to live after having to sell or leave their homes. A quick scan of rental listings will tell you the price range for the type of property you’re seeking.

So repeat after me:  There is no prince from Nigeria who needs my bank account number to transfer $10 million. There is no landlord from Nigeria who has a cute three-bedroom for rent at 60% off.

If you’re a landlord, you could be subjected to this type of scam.  So it’s a good idea to make it very easy for prospective tenants to reach you:

* Be sure that your contact information is posted on the property in very conspicous places.
* Consider showing your properties by appointment only
* On your “For Rent” sign, consider indicating that a physical application will be necessary

None of these things can prevent a scammer from using your property as a conduit for ill-gotten gain.  But these tips may help less-savvy tenants to understand what is expected of them a little more clearly and thus save you some confusion and distraction.

Why You Should Maintain Your Brakes

One of the things we take for granted in this world is driving a car.  It has become routine and for some people a mindless activity.You see people everywhere taking on the phone, reading, even doing makeup, etc. while driving. 

But if your put some thought into it, you will realize that your life is on the line everytime you step into a car.Whether it is your fault or someone else’s, accidents happen.

One cause of accidents, although seldom does it happen, is brakes failing.Your brakes is definitely one of the parts of your vehicle that is very important.Unfortunately, if it’s out of sight it is out of mind.  I have seen this firsthand with my San Diego brakes shop.

Your brakes qualifies definitely as being out of sight.  But it is one part of your car that you need to keep regular maintenance on.  Whether you do it yourself, or hire a San Diego auto repair shop, you have to maintain it.After all, the safety of your life and maybe your family’s life could depend on it.

With that being the case, it will be relatively easy to maintain your brakes.You can do one of two things, you can take it to a brake repair shop or you can learn how to maintain it yourself.

Either way, the two things to look at for brake maintenance is brake fluid level and brake pad condition.  If you are diligent in maintaining these two points, you will keep your brakes safe. 

When checking the brake fluid levels all you need to do is locate the fluid reservoir level.  It is usually marked and has a ‘min’ line and a ‘max’ line.Make sure that the fluids are not below the ‘min’ line and you will not have any problems.

Also be sure that you see that the brake fluid is yellow in color and clear.  If it is not, you will have to flush the brakes and replace it with new fluid.

Brake fluids are easy to maintain.The hard part of this will be the brake pads.  For this, more often than not you will need a brakes repair company like my San Diego brake shop. 

Most of the times your brake pads will let you know that they need to be replaced by making that loud screeching sound during braking.

If so, get them checked and if need be, replaced as soon as you can. Brake pads are difficult to control or stop if it is worn.

With your safety and any passengers safety on the line, this is a no brainer. Get it checked and if you have to, go and get your brakes fixed.

Simple Steps for Painting Your House

First step in this process is the preparation of the surface.  Unless your home has been through some sort of disaster, there won’t be too much preparation to worry about.  All you will need to do is make sure it is sanded and smoothed.

Second step in the process is priming.  This is an easy step and the object is to make sure the primer you use is tinted as close as possible to the finish color.  This makes it much more simpler to apply the final coat of paint.

Fourth step is to begin applying that first coat of paint.  With this step you want to brush one surface wall at a time. 

Fifth step is going to be another surface preparation type of step.  You are performing this step to double check the surface one more time so to ensure that the surface is smooth before you put on that last coat of paint.  Once more, any of the imperfections you may find can be taken care of with a drywall compound.

Final step is to apply the second coat of paint.  This is going to be the best part because your hard work will now all come together for you to see.  So once more, you are going to paint one wall surface at a time.  Make sure that the coat of paint is distributed evenly. 

Follow these 6 steps completely and you will be pleasantly surprised on the outcome of your house painting.  A coat of paint can dramatically improve a drab room and turn it into a beautiful room. 

With the low cost it takes to do a simple paint job of a room, the return on investment is huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple paint job can adds tens of thousands of dollars to the value of your home.

Bryan Ellis is widely recognized as a expert in the fields of real estate investing and internet marketing, so it’s no wonder he’s regarded as a founding thinker of the new phenomenon of Virtual Real Estate Investing. I recently spoke with him about this topic:

Landlords, rehabbers and foreclosure investors, take notice - you may soon be focused on the new concepts of Virtual Real Estate Investing. Everything from using the internet as an avenue to make more money in real estate to online games such as SecondLife seem to be included in the popular definition of this term. And the pure financial potential is staggering.

In order to figure out the truth of the matter, I sought out Bryan Ellis whose experience in the fledgling industry is truly impressive.

“I began using the term ‘virtual real estate investing’ in the late 1990’s when I realized the clear similiarities in profit strategies, regardless of whether the real estate in question is ‘virtual’ or ‘physical’” said Ellis.

One example of the parallels between virtual and physical real estate Bryan Ellis cites is the similarity between the monetization of domain names versus physical property. He points out that control of a domain name or even a specific web page is much like controlling a real estate property: “those assets can be monetized in similar ways: By selling them for a profit, by leasing them, by offering advertising, etc. It’s not even necessary to own a website in order to profit from it.”

Bryan Ellis points to the example of websites like HubPages, Squidoo, Google Knol, etc. “Each of these services allows any person to write an article or create other type of content, and then allows the author to share in the revenue generated on that page. It’s almost as if you’re renting retail space in a highly desirable shopping district, only you get the benefit of a ‘great address’ in the form of a well-known domain host like Google.com but without paying a single penny in rental fees. It’s a win-win scenario.”

I must admit: Its easy to see the parallels. For example, if you’re the owner of a desirable property, its desirability is (in a business context) largely due to its being in a location that is of interest to others. Similarly, ownership of a desirable domain name is valuable for the same reasons. Regardless of the type of asset, you can sell or lease or use any number of strategies to turn the assets into cash.
